Who Should Attend:
Personnel who wish to renew their First Aid at Work qualification before their current certification expires
Objectives:
- Understand the role and responsibilities of the emergency First Aider
- Understand how to assess and assess a casualty
- Manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
- Manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
- Recognise and assist a casualty who is choking
- Understand how to manage a casualty with external bleeding & hypovolaemic shock
- Manage a casualty with minor injuries
- To be able to administer First Aid to a casualty with chest injuries
- Be able to administer First Aid for a casualty with burns or scalds
- To complete written assessments
- Be able to administer First Aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning
- To be able to administer First Aid for asthma or hyperventilation and recognise the contrasting difference between the two conditions
- Be able to administer First Aid to a casualty with Anaphylactic shock
- Be able to provide First Aid to a casualty with angina or heart attack
- Be able to provide First Aid to a casualty with a suspected stroke
- Be able to provide First Aid to a casualty with injuries to bones & joints
- Be able to administer First Aid to a casualty with a suspected spinal injury
- Be able to administer First Aid to a casualty with suspected head injury
- Be able to conduct a Secondary Survey
- Be able to provide First Aid to a casualty with suspected diabetes
- Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with epilepsy

External Bleeding & Shock:
